MUSKEGON COUNTY MUSEUM CALENDAR            

Family Program on Raptors
Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
Meet Sue Stamy, the Director of Braveheart Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Twin Lake .  Sue will introduce participants to some of the residents of the Rehabilitation Center and discuss the raptors that fill Muskegon’s sky and how her organization cares for them.  

Seating is limited for this free event at the Muskegon County Museum and reservations are required.  

To reserve your seat, please call 231-722-0278 by April 21.  This program is free and will be held in the Museum's auditorium.

   Pick a session, call the museum at 722-0278.  Have the child’s full name, age, birth-date, parent/guardian name, and phone number ready.
2.  Complete the registration and medical consent form and return it to the Museum by
Monday, July 7, 2008.  Forms are available at the Museum or online at: www.muskegonmuseum.org.

HISTORIC SITES OPEN FOR SEASON
Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Noon

Wednesday through Sunday 12pm to 4pm

Let the tours begin at the Hackley & Hume Historic Site, Fire Barn Museum and Scolnik House.  Visitors can learn about the lumber era and Muskegon ’s most famous lumber barons, life in Muskegon during the Great Depression and the history of fire fighting at these three sites in downtown Muskegon .  For more information call 231-722-0278

Guided Cemetery Tour at Evergreen Cemetery
Saturday, September 20 at 10 a.m.

Learn about the history of the oldest cemetery still serving the Muskegon Community.  Muskegon County Museum curators will discuss some of the individuals and families buried there and the history and symbolism of grave markers.  Registration is required and space is limited.  Call the Museum at 231-722-0278 to register or for more information. 

 

Lumber Barons’ Ball
